The BMXAMI0410H is a 4-channel analog input module in the Modicon X80 family, configurable for voltage (±10 V, ±5 V, 0–10 V, 0–5 V, 1–5 V) or current (±20 mA, 0–20 mA, 4–20 mA) signals with 24-bit internal conversion and 16-bit resolution. Channel-to-channel isolation holds at 300 VDC, while channel-to-ground and channel-to-bus isolation both hit 1400 VDC — plenty of headroom for breaking ground loops on long sensor runs. The module draws 150 mA from the 3.3 V backplane and 45 mA from 24 V field supply, typical power consumption under 0.82 W at 24 V. That's light enough that you don't need to recalculate your rack budget when you swap it in. It's built for severe environments: conformal coating on the PCB, rated for gas class Gx and 3C4, dust 3S4, sand 3S4, salt level 2, and fungal spore resistance. Operating temperature spans -25 to 70 °C.
4-channel vs 8-channel — picking the right density
The closest function sibling in the same X80 family is the BMXAMI0810, which carries 8 analog inputs instead of 4. Everything else — input ranges, resolution, isolation, environmental ratings — is the same. If your design calls for exactly 4 channels per module, the BMXAMI0410H saves you a slot and keeps the wiring tidy. If you anticipate scaling beyond 4, the BMXAMI0810 lets you keep the I/O count lower and occupy less rack space.
Connection is via a single 20-way connector — one plug, one cable. The IP20 housing is rack-mounted in a Modicon X80 backplane. Status LEDs are on the front: one green RUN, one red ERR, one red I/O, and one green diagnostic LED per channel. That per-channel LED makes commissioning and fault finding straightforward — you can see which input is active or in alarm without a handheld. First-order digital filtering is built in, and recalibration is internal — no manual trim pots. Measurement accuracy at 25 °C runs 0.075 % of full scale on voltage ranges and 0.15 % on current ranges, with temperature drift of 15 ppm/°C (voltage) or 30 ppm/°C (current). If you're installing this in a panel that vibrates or sees shock, it's rated for 3 gn vibration and 30 gn shock — the conformal coating helps keep things intact. Derate above 2000 m altitude if you're in a high plant or mine site.
