The Schneider BMXAMI0810 is an 8-channel isolated analog input module for the Modicon X80 platform, offering 0.075% measurement error on voltage ranges and a 1 ms + 1 ms fast read cycle per channel – a combination that holds the zone for injection molding process control where shot-to-shot consistency depends on tight pressure and temperature signal acquisition. Input impedance sits at 10 MOhm in voltage mode or 250 Ohm plus a protective resistor in current mode, so the module loads the loop minimally and doesn't pull the cavity pressure transducer curve off zero. The 16-bit ADC delivers 15 bits plus sign resolution; that means 0.36 mV steps on the ±10V range and 1.4 µA steps on the current ranges – fine enough to catch the pressure rise that signals cavity fill.
Fast read cycle – what it means for the loop
Fast read cycle time is 1 ms + 1 ms per channel. For 8 channels the nominal read cycle is 9 ms. A first-order digital filter rejects electrical noise from the molding machine's servo drives, with 80 dB common-mode rejection and channel-to-channel isolation at 300 V DC – so a ground loop on a thermocouple input won't skew the adjacent pressure channel reading. Channels are isolated from each other (300 V DC) and from ground and the backplane bus (1400 V DC). This lets you mix 4-20 mA pressure transducers with voltage-output melt thermocouples on the same card without lifting grounds.
MTBF is 900000 H at standard conditions. Operating temperature range 0-60 °C and relative humidity 5-95 % at 55 °C.
Panel wiring note
Electrical connection is a single 28-way connector. Current consumption: 150 mA at 3.3 V DC and 54 mA at 24 V DC. That keeps the rack power budget in check – plan for 1.5 W max from the 24 V supply rail. The module's IP20 rating means it's for cabinet-internal mounting only. Vibration resistance is 3 gn, shock 30 gn – fits a machine-side cabinet on a hydraulic press without derating.
