Multifunction input module with 1 ms time stamps
The Schneider BMXERT1604T is a Modicon X80 multifunction input module capable of time-stamping events at 1 ms resolution, with configurable debounce up to 255 ms. It captures 16 process inputs organised as 4 isolated groups of 4, each group able to accept voltage levels from 24 V DC up to 125 V DC, so one module handles mixed-voltage zones without external level adaptors. Time synchronisation via IRIG-B or DCF77 ensures all events in a furnace control loop or multi-PLC line share a common timestamp reference, critical for sequence-of-events analysis after a trip.
Panel fit and environmental tolerance
The module occupies a single X80 slot: 32 mm wide, 86 mm deep, and 100 mm tall – slots into the same backplane as other X80 I/O, leaving room for adjacent thermocouple or analogue modules. Powered from the backplane, it draws 30 mA at 24 V DC and 130 mA at 3.3 V DC; total dissipation is 4 W, well within the rack's thermal budget even in a sealed furnace-side cabinet. Rated for -25 to 70 °C operating ambient and 95 % humidity without condensation, with gas, dust, sand, salt, and mould resistance per class 3C4 / 3S4 / 3B2 – survives the corrosive atmosphere of a glass-melt area.
Compliance package
Designed to IEC 61010-2-201, IEC 61131-2, UL 61010-2-201, and CSA C22.2 No 61010-2-201. Carries CE marking under the Low Voltage and EMC Directives. Isolation between bus and inputs is 2500 V DC for 60 s.
