The Schneider BMXNOC0401 is an Ethernet TCP/IP network module for the Modicon M340 platform, carrying an embedded 4-port switch and Transparent Ready Class B30 certification. Powered internally via the rack backplane at 555 mA from the 3.3 V DC supply — no separate power wiring needed. The four RJ45 ports support 10/100 Mbit/s with auto-crossover, and the switch stack includes RSTP for redundant ring topologies, port mirroring for diagnostics, and bandwidth management.

Compared to BMXNOE0100 — not a drop-in

The BMXNOE0100 is a single-port Ethernet module for the same M340 rack, but it draws 90 mA from a separate 24 V DC supply, not from the backplane. The BMXNOC0401 replaces that external supply need and adds three extra ports plus managed switch features (RSTP, port mirroring). The NOE0100 has a RESET push-button for cold restart; the NOC0401 only reports an ERR LED. If your panel was wired for the NOE0100's 24 V supply, you cannot simply swap without removing that supply and verifying the backplane power budget can handle the extra 555 mA at 3.3 V. Also confirm the application needs layer-2 switching — the NOC0401 is a switch, not just a gateway.
