The BMXP341000 is a processor module in the Modicon M340 automation platform, handling up to 512 discrete and 128 analog I/O points over a Modbus serial link. It draws power directly from the rack backplane, so no separate supply connection is needed. Boolean execution runs at 0.18 µs per instruction, with a combined 4.2 K instructions per ms on a 65/35 Boolean/arithmetic mix — fast enough for most mid-range machine control tasks.
Integration and Connectivity
The non-isolated serial link supports RS232C and RS485, half or full duplex, at 0.3 to 19.2 kbit/s in character mode or Modbus RTU/ASCII. Maximum segment length on an isolated Modbus link is 1000 m drop; non-isolated links are limited to 10 m segments. Up to 32 devices per segment on non-isolated serial, and point-to-point configuration also works. A USB port adds 12 Mbit/s local access for programming or diagnostics.
Compliance marks include CE, UL 61010-2-201, CSA C22.2, RCM, EAC, UKCA, and China RoHS — covers most industrial panels for North America, Europe, and APAC.
Memory and Data Handling
The module has 2 MB internal RAM split into 128 kB data and 1792 kB program/constants/symbols. An optional BMXRMS008MP memory card can back up programs, constants, and symbols. Default object areas include 512 internal words, 256 internal bits, and 128 constant words, expandable up to 32760 constant words and 32464 internal words on the max side.
