What the dimensions mean for your cabinet
At 503.2 mm wide and 103.7 mm tall, this rack occupies nearly half a meter of backpanel width. The 19 mm depth is slim — typical for a backplane — and leaves generous space behind for wiring ducts. 12 bus X slots accept the full range of X80 discrete, analog, and communication modules; each slot carries one I/O or CPU module. Plan the cabinet layout so that the rack height aligns with adjacent DIN-rail components.
Standards and compliance – not just a generic backplane
The BMXXBP1200 carries EN/IEC 61850-3 (substation) and IEC 61000-6-5 (industrial electromagnetic environments) certifications, plus UL 61010-2-201 and CSA C22.2 No 61010-2-201. It also meets IACS marine standards. The low-voltage directive (2014/35/EU) and EMC directive (2014/30/EU) apply. This package saves additional certification costs for utility, marine, or high-EMI installations.
Operating ambient 0–60 °C with 10–95% relative humidity (non-condensing). IP20 rated — fine inside a sealed cabinet. A single expansion connector (XBE) links the backplane to the CPU or power supply. No DIN-rail alternative; panel screws are the only fixing method. The 0.17 W power consumption is negligible on the system power budget.
