The Schneider Electric C1044A040 is a MicroLogic 4.2 AL electronic trip unit for the ComPacT NSX100...250 range, rated 40 A at 40 °C with 4 poles (4P). The trip unit integrates earth-leakage protection (Class A) and provides LSoI protection functions: long-time (L), short-time (So), and instantaneous (I) short-circuit protection, plus overload protection.

Protection settings and adjustment ranges

The long-time protection pick-up (Ir) is adjustable from 18 to 40 A, with fixed delay settings: 400 s at 1.5 x Ir, 16 s at 6 x Ir, and 11 s at 7.2 x Ir. The short-time protection pick-up (Isd) adjusts from 1.5 to 10 x Ir with a fixed delay. Instantaneous protection (Ii) is fixed at 600 A. Earth-leakage sensitivity (IΔn) and time delay (Δt) are both adjustable. The neutral protection settings offer three options: 0.5 x Ir (3D + N/2), 1 x Ir (4D), or no protection (3D).

Rated for ambient air temperatures from -25 to 70 °C during operation and -40 to 85 °C in storage. IP40 protection per IEC 60529. The trip unit mounts fixed in the ComPacT NSX breaker; neutral position is left. Local signalling includes a flashing green LED for ready status, red LED at 105% Ir for overload, orange LED at 90% Ir for overload, and a yellow indicator for residual current.
