The C10H32D040 is a Schneider Electric ComPacT NSX100H 3-pole circuit breaker rated 40 A at 40 °C, fitted with a MicroLogic 2.2 electronic trip unit. It carries a 100 kA Icu breaking capacity at 220/240 V AC (50/60 Hz) per IEC 60947-2, which means it can safely interrupt fault currents up to that level without upstream devices needing to clear the fault — a key selectivity headroom for distribution panels feeding downstream subfeeds. The electronic trip provides L (long-time overload), So (short-time short-circuit with fixed delay), and I (instantaneous short-circuit) protection curves, settable to coordinate with downstream breakers.
Breaking capacity across voltage levels
The H breaking capacity code delivers 70 kA Icu at 380/415 V AC, 65 kA at 440 V, 50 kA at 500 V, 35 kA at 525 V, and 10 kA at 660/690 V AC. For UL 60947-4-1 applications, it offers 85 kA at 240 V AC, 65 kA at 480 V, and 10 kA at 600 V. This voltage-dependent curve is typical of molded-case breakers: the interrupting rating drops as voltage rises.
Mounts on a backplate in either horizontal or vertical orientation, flat on the back. Front connections on both upside and downside simplify busbar and cable routing in a panel. The 105 mm width, 161 mm height, and 86 mm depth fit standard ComPacT NSX cutouts. IP40 front-face protection and IK07 impact resistance suit enclosed distribution boards.
Rated for 50,000 mechanical cycles and 50,000 electrical cycles at 440 V at half rated current (In/2), 30,000 cycles at 440 V at In, 20,000 cycles at 690 V at In/2, and 10,000 cycles at 690 V at In. The breaker is certified suitable for isolation per EN/IEC 60947-2, meaning it can be used as a visible-break disconnect when locked in the off position.
