Motor-protection MCCB with magnetic-only trip
It is designed specifically for motor protection, where the upstream breaker handles short-circuit faults while the motor starter's overload relay manages thermal protection. The magnetic-only trip responds to fault currents only — no thermal element — so it coordinates cleanly with a separate overload relay downstream. Rated 70 kA Icu at 415 V AC (50/60 Hz) per IEC 60947-2, this H-frame breaker clears high fault currents typical in industrial distribution panels. At 480 V AC the interrupting rating is 65 kA Icu per UL 60947-4-1, making it suitable for North American motor branch circuits as well.
The 25 A MA trip unit is sized for motor full-load current, not cable protection. Because it lacks thermal protection, you pair it with a thermal overload relay (e.g., TeSys LR series) set to the motor nameplate FLA. The magnetic pickup is fixed and non-adjustable on the MA trip — it trips instantaneously on short-circuit, leaving the overload relay to handle running overcurrents. In a 480 V panel with a 65 kA available fault current, the C10H3MA025 holds its rating without requiring a current-limiting upstream fuse. The IP40 front face keeps tools and fingers out; the backplate mount and 35 mm connection pitch match standard DIN-rail or direct-panel layouts.
