Motor protection breaker with magnetic-only trip
The Schneider Electric C10N3MA025 is a ComPacT NSX100N circuit breaker, 3-pole, fitted with an MA (magnetic-only) trip unit rated 25 A at 65 °C. It provides short-circuit (magnetic) protection only, without thermal overload — designed specifically for motor protection where the overload relay handles the thermal curve. Rated 50 kA Icu at 415 V AC (breaking capacity code N), with a maximum 90 kA Icu at 240 V AC, per IEC 60947-2. Suitability for isolation is confirmed to the same standard.
This breaker carries an N-frame breaking capacity: 50 kA Icu at 380/415 V AC and 440 V AC, 36 kA at 500 V AC, 35 kA at 525 V AC, and 10 kA at 660/690 V AC. At 480 V AC under UL 60947-4-1, it delivers 50 kA Icu. The 25 A magnetic trip unit is non-interchangeable in the field — it ships as a factory-set assembly. Utilisation category A (not current-limiting for energy let-through coordination), so plan for downstream device withstand ratings when building selective chains.

Mechanical durability: 50,000 cycles. Electrical durability varies with voltage and load: 50,000 cycles at 440 V at In/2, 30,000 at 440 V at In, 20,000 at 690 V at In/2, 10,000 at 690 V at In. Power dissipation per pole: 1.04 W. Protected poles: 3D (all three poles protected). No earth-leakage protection integrated — external RCD required if ground-fault protection is needed.
