What this breaker delivers
The C10N44V040 is a Schneider Electric ComPacT NSX100N molded-case circuit breaker with a 40 A MicroLogic 4.2 electronic trip unit and integrated earth-leakage protection. It's a 4-pole unit rated for distribution duty, built to EN/IEC 60947-2. At 415 V AC it still holds 50 kA Icu, so it coordinates downstream in a typical 400 V panel.
Trip unit and protection logic
The MicroLogic 4.2 gives you four protection blocks: L (long-time overload), So (short-time short-circuit with fixed delay), I (instantaneous short-circuit), and R (earth-leakage). The earth-leakage is integrated, no add-on module needed. That saves a slot in the panel and one wiring step during commissioning.
Front connections top and bottom — no rear-access requirement, which keeps the panel layout simple. The 35 mm connection pitch matches standard busbar and cable-lug spacing. Neutral is on the left (4P).
Mechanical endurance is 50,000 cycles. Electrical endurance at 440 V In is 30,000 cycles — at half load (In/2) it goes to 50,000. At 690 V In it drops to 10,000 cycles. That's typical for a distribution breaker; it's not a switching device for frequent motor starts, but it handles routine isolation and fault clearing without wearing out early.
