The 50 A rating in AC-22A (mixed resistive and inductive loads) and AC-23A (motor switching) tells you this disconnector handles motor starts and general distribution loads up to that current. Short-time withstand current is 900 A for 1 s or 3 s, and 200 A for 20 s — that's the fault current the switch can ride through without welding closed. Making capacity is 1.28 kA alone, or 150 kA when backed by an upstream circuit breaker, which matters for coordination studies.
