80 A, 4-pole thermal-magnetic breaker for distribution panels
The Schneider Electric C11E6TM080B is a ComPacT NSXm circuit breaker rated 80 A at 40 °C, with a TM-D thermal-magnetic trip unit and 4 poles (4P). Mounts on a backplate with front connections for compression lugs or busbars. The 108 mm width occupies 12 module pitches at 9 mm, so panel layout is straightforward — it fills a standard 12-module DIN-rail space. The grey RAL 7016 housing is the standard NSXm colour.
If your panel runs hotter, expect derating — the TM-D thermal element responds to ambient temperature. Utilization category A means it is not intended for frequent switching of motor loads — it is a distribution breaker, not a motor-protective device. The TM-D trip unit combines a thermal bimetal for overload protection and a magnetic coil for short-circuit protection. The D curve provides a higher magnetic trip threshold than B or C curves, suited for loads with moderate inrush like small transformers or capacitor banks. Earth-leakage protection is not built in — add a separate RCD if needed.

Rated IP40 and IK07 — protected against tools >1 mm and impact energy 2 J. Suitable for indoor panel mounting. Compliant with EN/IEC 60947-2, the standard for low-voltage circuit breakers. Mechanical durability is 20,000 cycles; electrical durability is 20,000 cycles at 440 V at In/2, and 10,000 cycles at 440 V at In.
