What the 70 kA breaking capacity means for your panel
The C11H6TM016B is a Schneider Electric ComPacT NSXm moulded-case circuit breaker rated 16 A at 40 °C with a 70 kA breaking capacity at 415 V AC (performance level H). At 4 poles and 12-module pitch (108 mm wide), this breaker occupies a full-width position on a backplate or DIN-rail adapter. The 80 mm depth and 137 mm height fit standard distribution enclosures; the grey (RAL 7016) housing is the standard Schneider finish for the ComPacT NSXm family. Connection is front-to-front via compression lugs or busbars, with a 35 mm pitch (27 mm without spreaders).
Installation and environmental constraints
The 12-module pitch (108 mm wide) means it fills a standard 12-module DIN-rail space if using an adapter. Connection pitch is 35 mm with spreaders, 27 mm without — so if you are paralleling busbars across multiple breakers, match the pitch to your busbar hole spacing. IP40 front protection (IK07 impact) keeps tools and fingers out but is not sealed against hose-down; install in a clean, dry enclosure. Operating altitude is 2000 m without derating, up to 5000 m with derating — relevant for high-altitude sites where air density reduces arc-quenching effectiveness.
Mechanical durability is 20 000 cycles; electrical durability varies with load — 20 000 cycles at 440 V at half rated current (In/2), 10 000 cycles at 440 V at full rated current, and 5000 cycles at 690 V at full rated current. For a distribution breaker that sees infrequent switching (once a day or less), these numbers translate to decades of service. The toggle control gives positive manual open/close indication; the local signalling flag (green) shows presence of auxiliary contacts.
