ComPacT NS new generation — 1600 A distribution breaker
The Schneider Electric C160H420FM is a ComPacT NS new generation 4-pole fixed circuit breaker with a MicroLogic 2.0 electronic trip unit rated 1600 A at 50 °C. Breaking capacity peaks at 85 kA Icu at 220/240 V AC (50/60 Hz) and holds 70 kA at 380/415 V, 65 kA at 440 V, 50 kA at 500/525 V, and 42 kA at 660/690 V — all per IEC 60947-2. The H code (70 kA at 415 V) tells you this is the high-breaking version for heavy fault duty. The LSI protection curve covers overload (long-time) and instantaneous short-circuit; no earth-leakage module is fitted. Thermal memory holds for 20 minutes, so the breaker remembers prior heating on reclose cycles.
Fixed-mount on a backplate, 327 mm high by 280 mm wide by 147 mm deep, with a 70 mm connection pitch. IP40 enclosure protection and IK07 impact resistance suit panel installation in indoor switchboards. Neutral is on the left. Four red LEDs for fault indication and one yellow for overload give local status without opening the panel door. Electrical durability: 1000 cycles at 690 V In, 2000 cycles at 690 V In/2, 2000 cycles at 440 V In, 5000 cycles at 440 V In/2. Mechanical durability is 10,000 cycles.
Designed to EN/IEC 60947-2, overvoltage category III, utilisation category B. Relative humidity range 0–95 %.
