What this frame is — and what it is not
The C160N4WM is a ComPacT NS1600N basic frame — the structural and switching core of a 1600 A air circuit breaker, without a trip unit or electronic control module. Rated 1600 A at 50 °C, it carries 50 kA Icu at 415 V AC (50/60 Hz) and 85 kA Icu at 240 V AC, per IEC 60947-2. The 4-pole, withdrawable chassis mounts to a backplate with a 70 mm connection pitch, neutral on the left. You add the protection relay separately; this is the rugged skeleton for a distribution main or heavy feeder in a mining or industrial switchboard.
Breaking capacity — what the N rating means for your fault level
At 415 V the ultimate breaking capacity (Icu) is 50 kA, and the service breaking capacity (Ics) holds at 37 kA.
Withdrawable chassis — panel integration and maintenance
The withdrawable design lets the breaker rack out of the cassette for inspection, testing, or swap without disconnecting the main bus. Mounts to a backplate; the 70 mm connection pitch aligns with standard busbar drilling. The 306 mm width, 260 mm height, and 147 mm depth fit standard ComPacT NS630b...1600 new-generation cubicle cutouts.
Sourcing this frame for a BOM line
Because the C160N4WM is an active, current-production Schneider frame, it is sourced through standard industrial distribution channels. No minimum order quantity is imposed by the supply chain; the part is quoted to order for a single unit or a panel-build quantity.
