Trip unit for ComPacT NSX160 — 160 A, 4P 3D, TM-D
The C166TM160C is a thermal-magnetic trip unit for the ComPacT NSX160 molded-case circuit breaker frame. It carries a continuous rating of 160 A at 50 °C, with LI protection — thermal overload (L) and fixed magnetic short-circuit (I) set at 1250 A. The 4-pole configuration protects three poles (3D) with the neutral on the left, no neutral protection (3D setting).
The long-time pickup (Ir) is adjustable from 0.7 to 1.0 x In, so you can dial it down to 112 A if the load requires it. The instantaneous pickup is fixed at 1250 A — that is the magnetic trip threshold for short-circuit protection, per the LI curve. The 4-pole 3D configuration means the neutral pole is switched but not protected; the three phase poles carry the overload and short-circuit elements.
Standards and deployment
IP40 front-face protection keeps tools and fingers out but is not rated for washdown. The fixed mounting style integrates into the ComPacT NSX100...250 frame; no DIN-rail adapter needed — the breaker itself mounts to the panel or chassis.
