The Schneider Electric C16N4TM100 is a ComPacT NSX moulded-case circuit breaker rated 100 A at 40 °C with a TM-D thermal-magnetic trip unit. It carries a 50 kA Icu breaking capacity at 415 V AC (IEC 60947-2), which means it can safely interrupt a fault up to that level without upstream damage — sized for distribution panels where the available fault current is known and the breaker clears it. The 4P configuration with neutral left and front-connect terminals suits standard backplate mounting in switchboards and motor control centres.
The N-frame breaking capacity code gives 50 kA Icu at 380/415 V AC — the dominant rating for 400 V-class distribution in IEC territories. At 240 V AC it jumps to 90 kA Icu; at 690 V AC it drops to 10 kA Icu. The so-what: if your facility's transformer or upstream gear can deliver a fault current above 50 kA at 415 V, this breaker won't hold — step to an S-frame or H-frame NSX.
The 140 mm width and 161 mm height fit standard switchboard cubicle cutouts; 86 mm depth leaves headroom for rear cable entry. IP40 enclosure protection keeps dust out but is not rated for washdown — install inside a cabinet.
Designed and tested to EN/IEC 60947-2, with overvoltage category III and pollution degree 3 per IEC 60664-1 — suitable for fixed-installation industrial panels. The breaker is marked as suitable for isolation (EN/IEC 60947-2), meaning it can be used as a visible-break disconnect when locked off. IK07 impact resistance and IP40 ingress protection cover normal handling and indoor panel environments.
