The C16N4TM160C is a Schneider Electric ComPacT NSX160N moulded-case circuit breaker, 4-pole, with a TM-D thermal-magnetic trip unit rated 160 A at 50 °C. The 50 kA Icu at 415 V AC (50/60 Hz) per EN/IEC 60947-2 tells you it safely interrupts faults up to that level without upstream cascading — that is the N breaking capacity code. For a distribution board feeding motor control centres or a main switchboard, this is the SCCR headroom you need to coordinate downstream devices. The TM-D trip gives fixed thermal (overload) and fixed magnetic (short-circuit) protection; no adjustment dials, which simplifies specification but means the Ir and Im are factory-set.
Front connections both upside and downside. Width 140 mm, height 161 mm, depth 86 mm. Neutral is on the left. IP40 enclosure protection means it is fine inside a panel; IK07 impact resistance handles accidental tool drops during commissioning.
Rated for 40,000 mechanical cycles and 40,000 electrical cycles at 440 V In/2 (20,000 at full In). That is a solid duty cycle for a distribution breaker — not a switching device, but it handles occasional load-break without wearing out prematurely.
