MCCB for distribution — 250 A, 4-pole, TM-D trip
The Schneider Electric C25B6TM250C is a ComPacT NSX250B molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated 250 A at 50 °C, with a 4-pole (4P) configuration and a thermal-magnetic TM-D trip unit. It provides L (overload) protection via the thermal element and I (short-circuit) protection via the magnetic element — no earth-leakage module built in. Breaking capacity is 25 kA Icu at 380/415 V AC 50/60 Hz per IEC 60947-2, with higher ratings at lower voltages: 40 kA at 220/240 V, 20 kA at 440 V, and 15 kA at 500 V. This breaker is suitable for isolation per EN/IEC 60947-2, meaning it provides a visible air gap when open — no separate disconnect switch needed in the circuit. Mounts on a backplate, horizontally or vertically, with front-facing connections top and bottom.
Rated IP40 (finger-safe, no water ingress) and IK07 (2 J impact resistance) per IEC 60529 and IEC 62262 — suitable for dry indoor panel environments, not for washdown or outdoor exposure. Connection pitch is 35 mm. The neutral is on the left side; neutral protection is set to 3D (no protection) — verify your system grounding scheme before wiring. Electrical durability: 20,000 cycles at 440 V at In/2, 10,000 cycles at 440 V at In. Mechanical durability: 20,000 cycles. That's standard for a distribution-class MCCB — fine for infrequent switching, not for daily motor-starting duty.
