MCCB with integrated metering and ground-fault protection
It is a 4-pole, 100 A (at 40 °C) device rated for distribution applications, delivering 200 kA Icu at 415 V AC — the R breaking capacity code. The trip unit provides L (long-time overload), S (short-time short-circuit), I (instantaneous), and G (ground-fault) protection curves, all configurable via the front LCD display and toggle controls. The 20-minute thermal memory before and after tripping means the electronic trip unit retains the thermal state of the conductors, preventing nuisance re-closure on a still-hot circuit — critical for motor and transformer feeders where repeated inrush can accumulate heat.
Breaking capacity and selectivity coordination
At 690 V AC the breaker still holds 45 kA Icu, which covers most industrial step-down transformer secondaries. For a panel OEM coordinating downstream feeders, the 200 kA at 415 V gives headroom for high-fault installations without cascading upstream — the S (short-time) protection setting can be delayed to achieve full selectivity with downstream 50 kA or 65 kA rated breakers. Electrical durability is rated at 10,000 cycles at 440 V at full rated current (In), and 20,000 cycles at In/2. For a motor-starting application with daily starts, this is a maintenance interval to track — the MicroLogic 6.2 E logs event tables and time-stamped histories that help plan the swap before the contacts wear out.
Integrated energy metering and communications
The MicroLogic 6.2 E trip unit includes an energy meter and communicates demand current, power, power quality metrics, max/min values, and maintenance indicators. It has 5 slots for optional communication modules (Modbus, Ethernet, wireless) and an LCD display for local readout. For a controls integrator, this means the breaker doubles as a panel-level power monitor — no separate CT or energy meter needed on the feeder, saving DIN rail space and wiring. The 4-pole configuration has the neutral on the left, with front connections both upside and downside. Connection pitch is 35 mm, and the overall footprint is 161 mm high by 140 mm wide by 86 mm deep. Mounting is on a backplate — no DIN rail adapter, so plan for drilled and tapped mounting points in the enclosure.
