Integrator's note on the C60H4P16AB
The Schneider Electric C60H4P16AB is a 4-pole miniature circuit breaker from the Multi9 C60H series, rated 16 A with a B-curve trip characteristic (3 to 5 x In magnetic trip). It carries a 10 kA Icn breaking capacity at 230/400 V AC per EN 60898, and higher Icu ratings per IEC 60947-2 — 15 kA at 400–415 V AC, 30 kA at 230–240 V AC. The dual standard means it qualifies for both residential distribution boards (EN 60898) and industrial panel applications (IEC 60947-2), so you can spec it into a commercial MCC or a branch panel without re-certifying the assembly. The 72 mm width (8 x 9 mm pitches) and 73 mm depth fit standard enclosure cutouts — no odd footprint to accommodate.
Do not use it for motor starting; that calls for a C or D curve. The 10 kA Icn at 230/400 V AC is the rated short-circuit capacity under EN 60898; the higher Icu values under IEC 60947-2 (up to 50 kA at 250 V DC for the 4P configuration) give you headroom for industrial fault levels. The Ics (service breaking capacity) is 7.5 kA at 230/400 V AC per EN 60898 — meaning after clearing a fault at that level, the breaker is still usable, not wrecked. Rated operational voltage spans 12–440 V AC 50/60 Hz, and the insulation voltage is 500 V AC. The 4-pole version also carries DC ratings: 25 kA Icu at 125 V DC (2P in series) and 40 kA at 125 V DC (3P in series). That DC capability is useful for battery-backed buswork or UPS distribution panels.
Deployment context
The 4-pole version handles three-phase plus neutral, or four-phase distribution in DC applications. Ambient operating range is -25 to 60 °C, with 95% humidity tolerance at 55 °C and tropicalisation class 2 per IEC 60068-1 — fine for unventilated enclosures in warm climates.
