The C60HB150 is a 1-pole miniature circuit breaker from the Schneider Electric Multi9 C60H series, rated 50 A with a B tripping curve. It uses a thermal-magnetic trip unit and is intended for distribution applications protecting branch circuits against overloads and short circuits.
The breaking capacity is specified under multiple standards and voltage conditions, which matters for selective coordination studies and SCCR compliance. Per EN 60898 it carries 10 kA Icn at 230/400 V AC — this is the service breaking capacity for a domestic or light commercial panel. Under IEC 60947-2 the rated ultimate breaking capacity (Icu) reaches 15 kA at 230–240 V AC, 30 kA at 130 V AC, and 20 kA at 60 V DC (1-pole).
Curve B — what it governs
A B-curve MCB trips magnetically at 3 to 5 times In (150–250 A for this 50 A unit). That characteristic suits resistive or lightly inductive loads — lighting circuits, socket outlets, control transformers — where inrush is modest. For motor-starting or high-inrush loads a C or D curve would be more appropriate to avoid nuisance tripping.
The 1-pole format snaps onto standard DIN rail, occupying one modular pitch (17.5 mm typical). The Multi9 C60H family shares the same footprint as the current Acti9 range, so panel cutouts and busbar layouts designed for C60H breakers remain mechanically compatible. Terminal capacity and torque ratings should be verified against the original installation documentation.
