The Schneider Electric C6336M500 is a MicroLogic 6.3 E-M electronic trip unit for the ComPacT NSX400...630 range, rated 500 A at 65 °C. The 500 A rating at 65 °C means this trip unit is calibrated for continuous motor load at that current without derating at the elevated panel temperature; if your enclosure runs hotter, the ambient operating range extends to 70 °C, but you should verify the thermal curve against the motor's full-load amps. The LSIG scheme gives you adjustable long-time pickup from 250 to 500 A (Ir), short-time pickup adjustable across 9 settings from 5 to 13 x Ir, and ground-fault pickup also adjustable — so you can shape the curve to match motor inrush and coordination requirements. The trip unit is 3-pole (3P) with 3D protected poles, meaning all three poles are monitored and protected. The motor tripping classes available are 5, 10, 20, and 30, selectable via the trip unit settings, letting you match the overload curve to the motor's thermal withstand characteristics.
Integration into the ComPacT NSX400...630 frame
This trip unit mounts into a fixed-mount ComPacT NSX400...630 circuit breaker frame. The LCD display provides local readout of energy metering, protection settings, time-stamped events, demand values, and maintenance indicators. The communication capabilities include energy metering data, protection and alarm settings, time-stamped histories and event tables, instantaneous and demand values, maintenance indicators, demand current and power, power quality, and maximeters/minimeters — all accessible via the trip unit's communication port without additional modules. Zone selective interlocking (ZSI) is supported, which allows multiple downstream breakers to communicate trip signals for faster fault clearing while maintaining selectivity — useful in a motor control center with multiple feeders. Class II electrical shock protection means double insulation is provided, so no protective earth connection is required on the trip unit itself.
