What this trip unit does
The ENW12702 is a microprocessor-based control unit for the Schneider Electric EasyPact NW range of air circuit breakers. It provides LSIG protection — overload (long-time), short-time short-circuit, instantaneous short-circuit, and earth fault — adjustable across ten settings per function. The trip unit rating spans 630 to 6300 A, and it operates at 690 V AC 50/60 Hz, certified to IEC 60947-2. That means it can be dialled in for everything from a 630 A feeder to a 6300 A main, with selectivity coordination possible across the full band.
Drawout mount for frame 1 — pulls out without unbolting busbars, which is the kind of detail a field-service tech appreciates when the line is down and every minute counts. Dimensions are 77 mm deep, 58 mm wide, 200 mm tall, fitting the standard EasyPact NW cradle. Neutral position is left; poles configurable as 3P or 4P with neutral protection settings (3D, 3D+N/2, 4D).
Adjustments and diagnostics
Long-time pickup (Ir) adjustable 0.4–1 x In with ten settings; short-time pickup (Isd) also ten settings; instantaneous (Ii) adjustable 2–15 x In, also ten settings. Ground-fault pickup has its own ten settings. The long-time delay (Tr) spans 0.5–24 s at 6 x Ir with 0 to –20% accuracy; short-time delay (Tsd) is 100–600 ms. Thermal memory is included, so the unit remembers prior heating — essential for motor feeders or repeated reclosure scenarios. Data recording covers alarm, event, and trip logs, and the status LED shows green, red, and orange health bars plus a green ready indicator. Fault indication flags short-circuit, overload, earth fault, and internal fault.
Communications and power
Onboard NFC and USB Type-C for peer-to-peer wireless interface — no special dongle needed; a smartphone app can pull trip logs or adjust settings. Battery is lithium non-rechargeable, which backs the clock and event logs during a power loss. Network type is AC, 50/60 Hz.
