What the 800 A and 66 kA Icu ratings mean for your switchgear lineup
The Schneider Electric ENW13218 is an EasyPact NW drawout circuit breaker rated 800 A at 40 °C, with a 66 kA Icu breaking capacity at 220–440 V AC 50/60 Hz per IEC 60947-2. For repeated fault clearing, the Ics (service breaking capacity) is 55 kA at the same voltage range, which is the level it can handle and still carry rated current afterward. Both ratings govern the fault-withstand coordination study for your distribution board. The drawout mounting means the breaker chassis stays bolted to the rail base plate while the moving portion slides out for inspection or swap — no need to disconnect main power cables for routine maintenance. The 4-pole configuration with neutral on the left suits three-phase plus neutral distribution panels common in industrial and commercial switchgear.
Integration into a panel or switchgear lineup
Mounts on a rail base plate with a 70 mm connection pitch without spreader. The rear connection location and horizontal/vertical connection orientation give flexibility in busbar or cable routing. At 358 mm wide × 322 mm high × 277 mm deep, it fits standard low-voltage switchgear compartments — verify the cutout and door clearance for the drawout racking mechanism.
Designed and tested to IEC 60947-2 for low-voltage switchgear and controlgear. Rated insulation voltage 1000 V AC, rated impulse withstand voltage 12 kV, and suitability for isolation — all per that standard. The IP30 degree of protection is typical for enclosed switchgear; the enclosure itself provides the higher IP rating. Ambient operating range -5 to 70 °C covers most indoor installations; storage range -40 to 85 °C covers shipping and warehousing.
