What this closing coil does on the EasyPact NW
The ENW21805 is a closing coil for Schneider Electric's EasyPact NW range of air circuit breakers. It's the electrically operated component that pulls the breaker's main contacts closed when you apply the control voltage — no manual lever needed. This is a maintained-control-signal type, meaning the control voltage stays applied to hold the breaker closed; if the signal drops, the breaker trips open. That's standard for remote-operated breakers where you want loss-of-control-voltage protection built in.
The coil mounts fixed to the EasyPact NW breaker frame — no DIN-rail adapter, no panel drilling. It's a dedicated accessory that bolts onto the breaker's mechanism. The fixed mounting means you plan for it at the breaker selection stage, not as a field add-on after the panel is wired. Control wiring lands on the coil's terminals at 380/480 V, so factor that voltage into your control transformer sizing and wire insulation ratings. The coil draws its rated current only during the closing pulse; holding current is lower, but the supply must sustain the full pull-in transient.
