What this breaker delivers
The Schneider Electric ENW24109 is an EasyPact NW air circuit breaker rated for 800 A at 40 °C, with a 50 kA Icu breaking capacity at 220…440 V AC. At 690 V AC the Icu drops to 42 kA, still a solid number for a 690 V bus. The Ics (service breaking capacity) matches the Icu at both voltage levels, meaning the breaker can be reclosed immediately after clearing a fault without derating — a practical advantage for continuous-process lines where a downstream fault shouldn't force a breaker replacement. Rated insulation voltage (Ui) is 1000 V AC, and the impulse withstand (Uimp) is 12 kV, so it's comfortable on 690 V systems with reasonable surge exposure.
This is a fixed-mount, rear-connected breaker on a base plate — no draw-out cradle, no DIN-rail clip. Panel cut-out and bus-bar layout need to accommodate the 422 mm width, 352 mm height, and 297 mm depth. The rear connection pitch is 115 mm without a spreader, so bus-bar drilling matches that spacing. IP40 protection means it's fine inside a clean enclosure but not for washdown areas or outdoor cabinets without additional weatherproofing. Pollution degree 4 per IEC 60664-1 is the highest standard rating — it tolerates conductive dust and condensation, common in industrial environments like cement plants, foundries, or grain handling. The control is push-button operated with a contact position indicator, so the operator can see open/closed status at a glance without auxiliary lamps.
Designed and tested to IEC 60947-2 for low-voltage switchgear and controlgear. Mechanical durability is 20,000 cycles with maintenance, 10,000 without; electrical durability at 440 V is 6,000 cycles without maintenance under Category B duty. That Category B classification means it's intended for distribution applications where the breaker sees infrequent switching — not for motor starting or frequent load cycling.
