The ENW24118 is a 4-pole EasyPact NW drawout circuit breaker rated 1000 A at 40 °C. That 1000 A continuous rating is the thermal current — sized for the main feeder or a large distribution bus, not a branch circuit. The 50 kA Icu at 220…440 V AC tells you it can safely interrupt a fault up to that level without failing; the 42 kA Icu at 690 V covers higher-voltage installations. IP40 keeps tools and fingers out but expects a panel enclosure for washdown areas.
Drawout integration and panel fit
Drawout mounting means the breaker slides into a cradle — no need to disconnect main cables for maintenance or swap. The rear connection and 115 mm connection pitch without spreader define the bus-bar or cable layout; vertical or horizontal connection positions give flexibility in the switchgear lineup. Rail mounting support and the 556 mm width, 439 mm height, 395 mm depth set the enclosure cutout and compartment size. Neutral position left matters if you're paralleling with an existing bus run.
Durability and electrical endurance
Category B utilisation means the breaker is designed for distribution duty with infrequent switching — not for motor starting. Electrical durability is 6000 cycles at 440 V and 4000 cycles at 690 V without maintenance. Mechanical durability is 20000 cycles with maintenance, 10000 without. Maximum breaking time is 25 ms, and maximum closing response time is 70 ms — fast enough for selective coordination in a tiered distribution system.
