The ENW24162 is a 2500 A fixed-mount air circuit breaker from the EasyPact NW range, built for distribution duty in industrial switchboards. For a 690 V system the Icu drops to 50 kA, still enough for most industrial networks.
Deployment context
This is a fixed-mount breaker — no draw-out cradle. It bolts to a base plate in the switchgear cubicle, with rear horizontal or vertical bus connections. The 537 mm width, 352 mm height, and 297 mm depth define the cubicle cell it fits into. Connection pitch is 115 mm without a spreader. The IP40 enclosure keeps out tools and small debris but is not sealed against water — install in a dry indoor switchroom.
The breaker is designed to IEC 60947-2 for low-voltage switchgear and controlgear.
Mechanical endurance is 20,000 cycles with maintenance, 10,000 without. Electrical endurance at 440 V is 5,000 cycles Category B; at 690 V it drops to 2,500 cycles. Maximum breaking time is 25 ms, closing response time 70 ms. For a main breaker that operates a few times a year, these numbers are generous; for a frequent-switching application like a welding bus, the electrical endurance at 690 V becomes the limiting factor.
Neutral configuration
The 4P breaker with protected poles (4d) allows several neutral protection settings: no protection (3D), 0.5 x Ir (3D + N/2), or 1 x Ir (4D). This flexibility matters when the neutral conductor is undersized relative to the phases or when the system requires full neutral protection.
