The Schneider Electric ENW24168 is a 3-pole switch disconnector from the EasyPact NW range, rated 1600 A in AC-23A duty at 690 V AC. The 1600 A continuous rating covers high-current distribution or main incomer service in a switchboard. It's designed for isolation per IEC 60947-3, with a visible contact position indicator and a rated impulse withstand voltage of 12 kV.
Short-time withstand current (Icw) is 50 kA for 1 second or 25 kA for 3 seconds at -5 to 70 °C ambient. That's the fault-current the switch can carry without welding or damage during the time it takes an upstream breaker to clear. For coordination studies, the 50 kA / 1 s figure is the one to use for selectivity with a downstream MCCB or fuse. Short-circuit making capacity (Icm) is 105 kA AC — meaning it can close onto a fault and survive. That's relevant if the switch is used as a main disconnect where a fault might already exist when you push it in. The drawout mounting (withdrawn for isolation) and rear vertical/horizontal connection pitch of 115 mm without spreader match standard switchboard busbar layouts.
Drawout mounting on a rail means the switch body can be racked out for maintenance or replacement without disturbing the main bus connections. Rear connection, vertical or horizontal orientation — typical for a fixed-mount switchboard or a withdrawable section. IP40 protection keeps out tools and fingers but not water; install it inside an enclosure rated for the environment.
