The Schneider Electric ENW24184 is a 4-pole switch disconnector in the EasyPact NW range, rated 1600 A in AC-23A duty at 690 V AC. Drawout mounting (withdrawal version) lets the unit be racked out for safe maintenance without unbolting main cables — a standard requirement in switchgear where the disconnector sits behind a closed door and the operator needs visible isolation before touching downstream gear. The rear-connection vertical or horizontal busbars accept a 115 mm connection pitch without a spreader. Rated impulse withstand voltage is 12 kV (IEC 60947-3), and the short-time withstand current is 50 kA for 1 s or 25 kA for 3 s.
Standards and deployment
The disconnector is certified to IEC 60947-3 and carries suitability for isolation (visible contact position indicator confirms open/closed state). IP40 protection covers the enclosure against solid objects >1 mm; no water ingress protection, so keep it indoors or in a weatherproof cabinet. Mechanical durability is 20,000 cycles with maintenance or 10,000 without; electrical durability in AC-23A is 6,000 cycles at 440 V and 4,000 cycles at 690 V. That's a robust duty cycle for a distribution-level switch — it's not a daily-operating disconnect for a motor starter, but it's fine for infrequent switching and isolation in a main distribution board where the switch sees a few operations per month.
The drawout chassis measures 395 mm deep, 556 mm wide, and 439 mm high. Neutral is on the left. Mounting is on a rail with a 115 mm connection pitch. Verify the switchgear cubicle depth before panel layout.
