The ENW24197 is a Schneider Electric EasyPact NW switch disconnector rated for 800 A in AC-23A duty at 690 V AC, 50/60 Hz. The 3-pole drawout design lets you rack the unit out of its cradle for safe isolation and maintenance without disconnecting power wiring, a standard practice in switchgear lineups where uptime and arc-flash safety drive the panel layout.
The headline number is 800 A at 690 V in AC-23A, but the short-circuit ratings tell you where it fits in a distribution system. The Icm making capacity is 143 kA peak, which governs its ability to close onto a bolted fault without damage. These numbers, combined with the HA breaking capacity code, place it in high-fault-duty switchgear, not light commercial panels.
Drawout mounting on a rail support, with rear connection terminals. The connection pitch is 115 mm without a spreader, and connections can be made in either vertical or horizontal orientation. Panel cutout and bus-bar planning need to account for the 441 mm width, 439 mm height, and 395 mm depth — this is a full-size switch disconnector, not a compact unit. IP40 protection means it's suitable for indoor switchgear enclosures where tools and fingers are the main concern, not hose-down washdown environments.
Designed and tested to IEC 60947-3, the standard for switches, disconnectors, and switch-disconnectors. It's certified as suitable for isolation per that standard — meaning when open, it provides a visible gap that meets the safety requirements for isolating a circuit for maintenance. Rated insulation voltage is 1000 V AC, and impulse withstand voltage is 12 kV, which covers most 690 V industrial systems with adequate clearance. The contact position indicator gives a visual confirmation of the open/closed state, a requirement for lockout/tagout procedures.
