What the 1250 A AC-23A rating means for the panel
The ENW24199 is a 3-pole switch disconnector from the EasyPact NW family, rated 1250 A in AC-23A duty at 690 V AC. AC-23A covers switching of motor loads and other highly inductive circuits — this is the utilisation category that matters when the disconnector sits ahead of a group of motors or a transformer. The 1250 A figure is the operational current under that duty; at lower switching frequencies the thermal continuous current is the same value. Isolation is confirmed per IEC 60947-3, so it doubles as a visible-break safety disconnect for the downstream section.
Short-circuit performance and withstand
Rated short-time withstand current (Icw) is 66 kA for 1 second and 36 kA for 3 seconds, both at -5 to 70 °C ambient. Short-circuit making capacity (Icm) reaches 143 kA peak at 50/60 Hz. These numbers tell you the disconnector can hold closed through a downstream fault long enough for an upstream breaker to clear — a key coordination parameter when the panel feeds a high-fault bus.
Drawout mounting on a rail, rear-connected. The 441 mm width, 439 mm height, and 395 mm depth set the cutout and swing clearance in the enclosure. Connection pitch is 115 mm without a spreader; vertical and horizontal connection positions are both supported.
The ENW24199 carries an active lifecycle status. For a panel builder or MRO planner, that means no last-time-buy pressure and no forced substitute search.
