Switch disconnector for distribution, 800 A drawout
The Schneider Electric ENW24261 is a 4-pole switch disconnector from the EasyPact NW range, rated 800 A in AC-23A duty at 690 V AC — meaning it handles the high inrush of motor and mixed loads, not just resistive heating. Drawout mounting lets you rack the unit out for safe isolation without disturbing the rear-connected buswork. Rated insulation voltage is 1000 V AC, and the unit is certified for isolation per IEC 60947-3, so it doubles as a visible-break disconnect for lockout/tagout.
The 800 A AC-23A rating at 690 V is the heavy-duty motor-switching number — it covers frequent on-off cycles for motors, transformers, and capacitive loads. Short-time withstand current (Icw) is 50 kA for 1 second, or 25 kA for 3 seconds, which sets the upstream fuse or breaker coordination: the disconnector can ride through a fault long enough for the protective device to clear. Making capacity (Icm) is 105 kA peak, so it can close onto an existing fault without welding contacts.
Pollution degree 4 — for harsh environments
Pollution degree 4 per IEC 60664-1 means this disconnector is rated for continuous conductive pollution — dust, condensation, or light industrial grime that could form a tracking path. That's unusual for a switch disconnector; most stop at PD3. The IP40 enclosure keeps tools and fingers out but isn't sealed against water — install in a cabinet, not outdoors.
