Switch disconnector for high-current distribution
The Schneider Electric ENW24265 is a 4-pole switch disconnector from the EasyPact NW range, rated for 2000 A in AC-23A duty at 690 V AC. The drawout mounting lets the unit be racked out for inspection or maintenance without disturbing the rear power connections, which is standard practice for high-current switchgear where access to the main bus is restricted.
Withstand and making capacity — selectivity headroom
Rated short-time withstand current (Icw) is 50 kA for 1 s or 25 kA for 3 s, and the rated short-circuit making capacity (Icm) is 105 kA peak at 50/60 Hz. These figures govern coordination with upstream protective devices: the 50 kA / 1 s rating tells you the switch can carry that fault current long enough for a downstream breaker to clear, so you can achieve selective coordination in a distribution board without the switch failing closed. The 105 kA making capacity means it can close onto an existing fault — a real concern when re-energising a circuit after a fault event.
Dimensions are 556 mm wide × 439 mm high × 395 mm deep. The rear connection location and horizontal/vertical connection orientation mean the bus bars or cables land on the back of the unit, not the front — plan your gland plate and bus run accordingly. Connection pitch is 115 mm without a spreader.
