What this 1000 A breaker is for
The Schneider Electric EVS10H3MF20 is a 3-pole EasyPact EVS circuit breaker with a 1000 A trip unit rating and a 65 kA Icu breaking capacity at 440 V AC. It's built for distribution duty in fixed-mount switchboards, manually operated, with an electronic trip unit (EVS Trip System2.0) that provides overload and instantaneous short-circuit protection.
Rated current is 1000 A at 40 °C ambient — that's the continuous load it carries without derating. Above 40 °C, the electronic trip unit's thermal memory (20 min reset time) tracks the heating curve, so a hot breaker won't nuisance-trip on a restart. For a 480 V distribution panel, that's still well above typical utility transformer secondary fault levels.
Fixed-mount design — bolts to a base plate or rail base. Connection pitch is 115 mm without a spreader; rear-connected vertical or horizontal bus bars. Dimensions: 422 mm wide × 352 mm high × 297 mm deep. The mechanical interlock and contact position indicator are standard, so you can wire a status feedback to the PLC without extra aux contacts.
