Overview
The EZ9F53120 is a 1-pole C-curve miniature circuit breaker from the Schneider Easy9 range, rated 20 A at 230 V AC with a 3 kA breaking capacity conforming to SANS 60947-2. It uses a thermal-magnetic trip unit, clips onto a DIN rail, and is sealed to IP20 with tunnel terminals accepting 1 to 25 mm² rigid or flexible wire.
Selection and sizing
At 20 A, this breaker sits between the 16 A EZ9F53116 and the 25 A EZ9F53125 in the same Easy9 1-pole C-curve family; the 20 A rating is a common choice for general-purpose lighting and socket circuits where 16 A is too light and 25 A overshoots the cable rating. The 3 kA breaking capacity at 230 V AC is sufficient for residential and light commercial distribution boards where the prospective short-circuit current stays under that threshold.
