The Schneider Electric EZC250N3225 is a 3-pole thermal-magnetic circuit breaker from the EasyPact EZC250N series, rated 225 A at 40 °C and carrying a TM-D trip unit. The 690 V AC rated insulation voltage (Ui) and 550 V AC maximum operational voltage (Ue) cover most 400/480 V distribution panels.
The 225 A rating at 40 °C is the continuous current the breaker carries without tripping in a 40 °C ambient; at 50 °C the same trip unit is rated 225 A, so no derating is required up to that point. For a distribution panel feeding a 225 A bus, this breaker is the main or a large feeder; the 20 kA Icu at 440 V AC is the maximum fault current it can clear once, and the 25 kA Icu at 400 V AC gives a bit more headroom at common European voltages. The 8 kA Icu at 550 V AC is the limit if the system runs at that voltage — rare in distribution, but the rating is there.
Deployment context
The breaker mounts fixed to a backplate with front connections — typical for panel-mounted distribution in switchboards or enclosure backplates. IP20 means finger-safe but not sealed — install inside a cabinet rated for the environment. The toggle control provides positive contact indication for visual confirmation of open/closed state.
