Straight-tooth planetary gearbox, 40 mm external diameter, delivering a 5:1 reduction ratio. Maximum torsional backlash is 30 arcmin — this is a commercial-grade positioning gearbox, not a zero-backlash precision stage. For applications where lost motion matters, budget the full 30 arcmin into the positioning budget. Rated service life is 30,000 hours at 100 rpm and 30 °C ambient. The gearbox is lubricated for life — no maintenance re-greasing interval. Ambient operating range is -25 to 90 °C.
Load ratings and mechanical limits
Maximum radial force Fr is 200 N at 100 rpm for a 10,000-hour life, derated to 160 N for the full 30,000-hour service life — force applied at mid-distance from the output shaft. Maximum axial force Fa follows the same 200 N / 160 N derating profile at the same speed and temperature conditions. Torsional rigidity is 1 N·m/arcmin. Moment of inertia is 0.019 g·cm² — low enough that it won't dominate the reflected inertia in a small servo or stepper system. Shaft output carries an IP54 rating; the housing is black anodized aluminium, shaft material is C45 steel.
Efficiency and noise floor
Listed at 96 % efficiency — typical for a single-stage planetary with straight teeth and oil lubrication. The 55 dB noise level at 1 m, no-load, is quiet enough for laboratory or light industrial environments without an acoustic enclosure.
