The GBX0400091004F is a Schneider Electric planetary gearbox with straight-cut teeth, a 40 mm outer diameter, and a 9:1 reduction ratio. Continuous output torque is 16.5 Nm at 100 rpm and 30 °C. Service life is rated at 30,000 hours under those conditions. The gearbox is lubricated for life — no maintenance re-greasing interval. Maximum radial force at mid-span on the output shaft is 200 N for a 10,000-hour life, derating to 160 N for 30,000 hours at 100 rpm and 30 °C. Maximum axial force follows the same derating curve.
Backlash and torsional rigidity
Maximum torsional backlash is 28 arc-minutes — a standard-precision straight-tooth planetary, not a zero-backlash unit. Torsional rigidity is 1.1 N·m/arcmin, which governs windup under reversing or cyclic loads. Shaft output seal is rated IP54, suitable for dry indoor environments with occasional dust or splash. The operating ambient range is -25 °C to 90 °C.
