Torque and duty cycle that matter
Rated for 32 N.m maximum output torque at 100 rpm and 30 °C ambient — this is the peak the gearbox can handle before the straight-teeth mesh reaches its mechanical limit. Continuous duty is lower at 20 N.m under the same conditions, so the application must not exceed that sustained load. Service life is 30,000 hours at 100 rpm and 30 °C with the 20 N.m continuous torque. The gearbox is lubricated for life — no maintenance interval for oil changes, but the sealed grease limits the thermal envelope.
Shaft loading and mounting constraints
Maximum axial force (Fa) is 200 N for a 10,000-hour life at 100 rpm and 30 °C, dropping to 160 N for the full 30,000-hour service life. Radial force (Fr) follows the same derating curve — 200 N at 10,000 hours, 160 N at 30,000 hours, measured at mid-span on the output shaft. The shaft output carries an IP54 rating — splash-proof from the shaft side, but the housing itself is not sealed for washdown. The black anodized aluminium housing and C45 steel shaft are standard for dry indoor environments.
Backlash and noise profile
Maximum torsional backlash is 28 arc-minutes — this is a standard-precision straight-teeth planetary, not a zero-backlash unit. For positioning applications requiring repeatability under 0.5°, the 28 arc-min play needs to be accounted for in the servo tuning or mechanical preload. Noise level is 55 dB at 1 meter under no-load conditions — quiet enough for most machine-tool or conveyor applications without additional acoustic enclosures. The 94 % efficiency means about 6 % of input power is lost as heat through the gear mesh and bearing friction.
