Obsolete — sourcing through independent channels
Schneider Electric has marked the GBX0600050582D as obsolete. Available through independent surplus and broker channels. Quantities are lot-specific; availability and pricing confirmed at RFQ against the BOM line.
Torque and duty-cycle limits
Rated for 40 N.m continuous output torque, with a maximum of 64 N.m — the margin above continuous covers acceleration peaks and short overloads, not sustained operation. Service life is 30000 hours at 100 rpm and 30 °C ambient. The axial force limit is 450 N at those conditions, rising to 600 N if the life target drops to 10000 hours. Radial force at mid-shaft is 340 N for 30000 hours, 500 N for 10000 hours.
Efficiency and thermal envelope
96 % efficiency means 4 % of the transmitted power dissipates as heat inside the housing. At 40 N.m and 100 rpm (about 419 W input), the heat loss is roughly 17 W — the black anodized aluminium body sheds that without forced cooling in most panel environments. Ambient operating range is -25 to 90 °C. The housing is IP54 at the shaft output — suitable for dry indoor locations but not washdown or outdoor exposure without additional sealing at the motor interface.
Backlash and positioning accuracy
Maximum torsional backlash is 20 arcmin — a standard-precision straight-tooth planetary. For indexing or positioning applications requiring less than 10 arcmin, a helical or precision-ground gearbox would be needed. Torsional rigidity is 2.3 N.m/arcmin — the wind-up under load is predictable and repeatable, so compensation in the controller is feasible for applications that can tolerate the 20 arcmin window.
Acoustic and mechanical fit
Noise level is 58 dB at 1 m, no-load — audible but within typical machine-floor background levels. The straight-tooth design is inherently noisier than helical at higher speeds; the 5:1 ratio keeps the output speed moderate for most servo and stepper applications. Mounts in any position. The 60 mm external diameter and C45 steel shaft are standard for direct coupling to 60 mm-frame motors. Lubricated for life — no maintenance access ports or regreasing intervals.
