In a food-processing or washdown zone, the IP54 shaft exit needs a secondary cover or boot if the machine is hosed down directly. The gearbox is lubricated for life — no oil-change interval, no breather, no maintenance schedule for the lubrication system. The C 45 steel shaft is standard medium-carbon steel, hard-wearing but not stainless; in a corrosive atmosphere the shaft extension may need a protective coating.
Noise and inertia — acoustic and dynamic profile
Noise level is 58 dB at 1 m, no-load — roughly the sound of a quiet office or a library. Under load the noise rises, but the straight-tooth planetary mesh is inherently noisier than a helical stage; if the gearbox is mounted on a resonant structure or near an operator station, the 58 dB no-load figure is a floor, not a guarantee. Moment of inertia reflected to the input is 0.078 g.cm² — low enough that a small servo or stepper motor can accelerate the gearbox without a significant torque penalty for the rotor inertia.
