Shaft output seal is rated IP54 — protects against dust ingress and splashing water, but not washdown or submersion; the motor-side interface relies on the motor's own seal. Mounting position is unrestricted — the gearbox can be installed shaft-up, shaft-down, or horizontally without derating, as long as the breather path (if any) is oriented per the motor manufacturer's note.
