20:1 planetary box — 44 N.m continuous, 70 N.m peak
The GBX0600200554F is a 60 mm planetary gearbox with straight teeth, delivering a 20:1 reduction ratio. Continuous output torque is 44 N.m at 100 rpm and 30 °C; peak torque hits 70 N.m under the same conditions. Rated service life is 30000 hours at 100 rpm and 30 °C — the lubrication is sealed for life, so no maintenance interval for grease changes. Maximum torsional backlash is 20 arc.min, and torsional rigidity is 2.5 N.m/arcmin — this matters for positioning accuracy in indexing or pick-and-place axes where lost motion eats into repeatability.
Sourcing reality — obsolete, quoted to order
Available through independent surplus channels; quantities are lot-specific and confirmed at RFQ. No pin-compatible replacement exists within the GBX family — a different frame size or ratio will require a mechanical redesign.
Mechanical limits for the application engineer
Shaft output is IP54 — fine for dry indoor environments but not washdown. Housing is black anodized aluminium; shaft material is C45 steel. Maximum axial force on the output shaft is 450 N for the 30000-hour life target, or 600 N if you accept 10000 hours. Radial force (applied mid-shaft) is 340 N for 30000 hours, 500 N for 10000 hours. Exceed these and the bearing life drops fast. Ambient operating range is -25 to 90 °C — the lubricant viscosity holds across that band, but the aluminium housing sinks heat better than the steel shaft, so watch the thermal gradient on high-duty cycles.
