25:1 reduction, 40 N.m continuous — sizing for servo axes
The GBX0600250403D is a planetary gearbox with straight teeth, 60 mm outer diameter, and a 25:1 reduction ratio — sized for servo or stepper motor output where you need torque multiplication without a belt stage. Continuous output torque is 40 N.m; peak (maximum) output torque reaches 70 N.m — the margin covers acceleration peaks but the thermal limit is the continuous figure at the rated service life. Efficiency is listed at 94 %, which means roughly 6 % of input power is lost as heat — acceptable for most servo axes, but if the duty cycle is high (>80 %), check the gearbox surface temperature against the -25…90 °C ambient range.
Service life and load limits — 30000 h at 100 rpm
Rated service life is 30000 hours at 100 rpm output speed and 30 °C ambient — this is the L10 life anchor. At higher speeds or loads, life shortens; the axial and radial force limits are also stated at 100 rpm for that 30000 h target. Maximum axial force Fa is 450 N at 100 rpm for 30000 h life, or 600 N if you accept 10000 h life. Radial force Fr at mid-shaft is 340 N for 30000 h, 500 N for 10000 h — these govern belt-pulley or direct-couple loads on the output shaft. Torsional rigidity is 2.5 N.m/arcmin — the shaft twist under load is low enough for positioning applications that don't require zero-backlash, but the maximum backlash of 25 arcmin means this is not a low-backlash gearbox for high-precision indexing.
Sourced through independent distribution against an RFQ. Mounts in any position — the housing is black anodized aluminium, shaft material C 45 steel. Lubricated for life, so no maintenance schedule for grease changes.
