Torque ratings and service life at 100 rpm
Continuous output torque is 120 N.m (1062.09 lbf.in) at 100 rpm and 30 °C. Maximum output torque reaches 192 N.m (1699.3 lbf.in) under the same conditions — the margin above continuous allows for intermittent peak loads during acceleration or momentary overloads. Rated service life is 30,000 hours at 100 rpm and 30 °C. The gearbox is lubricated for life, so no maintenance interval for oil changes applies — the sealed lubrication matches the service life envelope. Maximum axial force (Fa) is 1200 N for a 10,000-hour life at 100 rpm and 30 °C, derating to 900 N for the full 30,000-hour target. Radial force (Fr) applied at mid-distance on the output shaft is 950 N for 10,000 hours or 650 N for 30,000 hours — these limits govern overhung load capacity on the output shaft.
Backlash, efficiency, and environmental limits
Maximum torsional backlash is 14 arc.min — this is the angular play between input and output when reversing direction. For positioning applications requiring tighter repeatability, a lower-backlash gearbox would be needed; 14 arc.min suits indexing and conveyor drives where reversal accuracy is not critical. Construction and integration notes
The gearbox housing is black anodized aluminium, 80 mm external diameter. Shaft material is C45 carbon steel. The straight-tooth planetary design is simpler and more cost-effective than helical, but generates more noise and vibration — factor this into the mounting structure if the gearbox is coupled to a precision axis. Torsional rigidity is 6.5 N.m/arcmin — this stiffness value determines how much angular deflection occurs under load. For a 120 N.m continuous torque, the expected wind-up is roughly 18.5 arcmin (120 / 6.5), which adds to the static backlash and must be accounted for in servo tuning if used in a closed-loop system.
