Obsolete — what that means for procurement
Schneider Electric lists the GBX0800400554F as Obsolete. This planetary gearbox is sourced through independent surplus channels.
Torque and duty ratings that decide fit
Rated for 110 N.m continuous output torque at 100 rpm and 30 °C, with a maximum output torque of 176 N.m under the same conditions. Service life is 30,000 hours at 100 rpm and 30 °C. The gearbox is lubricated for life, so no field re-greasing interval — the oil fill is sealed at the factory. Maximum axial force on the output shaft is 1200 N for a 10,000-hour life or 900 N for the full 30,000-hour life, both at 100 rpm and 30 °C. Radial force limits are 950 N (10,000 h) and 650 N (30,000 h), measured at mid-span on the output shaft. These numbers set the overhung-load budget for sprockets, pulleys, or couplings mounted directly on the shaft.
Mechanical build and integration notes
Planetary gearbox with straight-cut teeth, 80 mm outer diameter housing in black anodized aluminium. Shaft material is C45 steel. Reduction ratio is 40:1, torsional rigidity is 6.5 N.m/arcmin, and maximum torsional backlash is 14 arcmin. The 14 arcmin figure is the total angular play at the output under no load — relevant for positioning accuracy in pick-and-place or indexing applications where repeatability matters. Shaft output seal is rated IP54 — splash-resistant but not submersible. Ambient operating range is -25 to 90 °C. Noise level at 1 m under no load is 60 dB, and efficiency is listed at 94 %.
