Planetary gearbox, 16:1 reduction, 260 Nm continuous
The GBX1200161402F is a Schneider Electric planetary gearbox with a 16:1 reduction ratio, straight teeth, and a 120 mm external diameter. It delivers a continuous output torque of 260 N.m at 100 rpm and 30 °C, with a maximum output torque of 416 N.m under the same conditions. Efficiency is rated at 94 %, which means roughly 6 % of input power is lost as heat – relevant for thermal management in enclosed drives.
Duty cycle and load limits
Service life is specified at 30,000 hours at 100 rpm and 30 °C – the gearbox is lubricated for life, so no scheduled oil changes. Ambient operating range is -25 to 90 °C, covering most indoor industrial environments. Maximum axial force (Fa) is 2100 N at 100 rpm for 30,000-hour life, rising to 2800 N for a 10,000-hour life. Maximum radial force (Fr) is 1500 N at 100 rpm (mid-shaft) for 30,000-hour life, 2000 N for 10,000-hour life. These govern overhung load limits on the output shaft. Backlash is 12 arc-min maximum – a positioning accuracy number for indexing applications. Torsional rigidity is 13 N.m/arcmin, which defines the wind-up under load.
Construction and protection
Housing is black anodized aluminium; shaft material is C45 steel. Shaft output protection is IP54 – splash-resistant but not submersible. Noise level at 1 m no-load is 65 dB, quiet enough for most machine-tool and conveyor applications.
Lifecycle and sourcing
This part is listed as obsolete by Schneider Electric. Availability is through independent distribution channels; quantities are confirmed at RFQ.
